Shrine

Kasama, Ibaraki

Kasama Inari Shrine is one of Japan’s three major Inari shrines, set in the small pottery town of Kasama in Ibaraki. It dates back to the 7th century and is known for its lively atmosphere, long approach lined with food stalls during festivals, and thousands of people who come to pray for prosperity and good fortune.

The shrine offers two goshuin versions. The one featured here is for the Daikokuten (大黒天) which is a shrine on the precincts of Kasama Inari.
