Josenji
常泉寺

Temple

Yamato, Kanagawa

Josenji, founded around 1590, is well-known as a “temple of flowers”. Various flowers bloom here throughout the year, including mitsumata, white equinox and hydrangeas. The temple is also notable for 500 Arhats statues, sculpted in 1988 by stone sculptor Tatsuhiko Kurata, as well as its many kappa (mythical water-dwelling creature) statues positioned around the grounds for visitors to find.
