Shrine

Nagoya, Aichi

Inu Shrine is a small but well-known local shrine dedicated to safe childbirth and protection for children. Its name, Inu (dog), comes from the belief that dogs give birth safely and easily, so they’re considered good luck for expectant mothers. You’ll see dog motifs around the grounds, including guardian dog statues and charms shaped like puppies.

This particular goshuin featured here is a limited version for the Year of the Dog.
