Gansenji is an almost hidden temple located in the countryside of Kizugawa in southern Kyoto Prefecture. Founded in the 8th century, it’s known for its beautiful three-storied pagoda, mossy paths, and the forest that surrounds it. It is also famous for seasonal flowers, especially hydrangeas and lotus.
