Daiyuzan Saijoji
大雄山 最乗寺

Temple

Minamiashigahara, Kanagawa

Daiyuzan Saijoji is a historic Soto Zen temple in a cedar forest in Kanagawa.

Founded in 1394, it’s known for its peaceful mountain setting, long stone paths, and towering old trees. The temple is  connected to the legend of the tengu guardian Douryō, which is why you’ll see giant wooden geta and tengu motifs around the grounds.
