Daishoin
大聖院

Temple

Itsukushima, Hiroshima

Daishoin is a Shingon temple on Itsukushima (Miyajima) in Hiroshima, set at the base of Mount Misen. It dates back to the 9th century and is closely tied to Kukai, the founder of Shingon Buddhism. The temple is known for its long stairway lined with spinning metal prayer wheels and halls filled with statues and lanterns.

This particular goshuin was obtained at the summit of Mount Misen.
