Akasaka Hikawa Shrine
赤坂氷川神社
Shrine
Minato-ku, Tokyo
Akasaka Hikawa Shrine was built in 1730 and features a red-brown shrine, zelkova trees and a large, ancient ginkgo tree. It was one of the Tokugawa shogunate’s protected shrines, and much of its vermilion-and-wood architecture still reflects that era.
